Choose the control that matches the risk
Deposit limits constrain incoming funds, spend or loss limits constrain exposure under their stated definitions, and time limits constrain duration. Definitions differ, so check whether returned stakes, bonuses or pending transactions count. A reminder without enforcement should not be confused with a hard stop.

Increases need time; reductions should not
Protective systems generally apply a lower limit promptly and delay an increase so the decision survives a calm period. The user should not be pressured with an offer during that delay. External bank limits and device blocks provide a second layer when a platform’s settings are unclear or unavailable.
- APrompt reductions
- BDelayed increases
- CExternal reinforcement

Move beyond limits when they repeatedly fail
Frequent increases, extra accounts, borrowed funds or workarounds are signs that a numeric limit is insufficient. Self-exclusion, payment blocks and professional support create stronger distance and reduce the number of decisions a person must resist.
- ANotice workarounds
- BUse exclusion when needed
- CAdd external barriers
